Readers, books, scrolls, carved tablets, scriptures, letters, mystery of reading all the same. Typically an individual activity, done silently and usually in solitude. It is necessary to understand the spoken language in which the text is written. In this painting artist is showing the group reading almost hidden text and possibly the foreign language text, or even text using foreign script. Painting portraits and human bodies enables the artist to get deeper into minds of human nature and to explore beauty and complexity of human body and of life itself. Artist's style could be described as a contemporary impressionism. He works fast but with clear concept before starting a new painting. His preferred mediums are watercolour on paper and oil or acrylic on canvas. Tony works "alla prima", directly with brush, without pencil sketch beforehand and with very little amount of overpainting and correcting.
